Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” John 20:29 NIV
Close your eyes, yes, close your eyes. What do you see? You say, “I can’t see I have my eyes closed.” When we close our eyes everything is dark and hard to imagine what may be in front of us. But, yet, so many countless blessings and miracles came out of the darkness.
Mary didn’t know what to think when the angel visited her telling her of her pregnancy. Yet, she believed and listened to the angel. Joseph didn’t know what to think of Mary’s pregnancy. Yet, he believed and followed the instructions given to him.
So goes the story of Jesus’ birth.
The beginning of His journey on Earth.
On the road to who knows where.
There was no time for despair.
He was on His way,
They were turned away.
They came from afar,
Guided by a star.
All gathered round to see the light
That shone so bright.
And were blessed by what was achieved.
No one knew the future that night,
But all were given sight
A sight to behold
Of a story to be told.
Do you believe, sight unseen? You will be blessed in your faith. This week is a week of remembrance and celebration of the ultimate sacrifice God gave us. How much do you think you will achieve, if you just believe?
Dear God, Thank you for giving your Son. Help me to believe sight unseen so that my faith in You is the foundation for my story that will someday be told. Amen
